As we reported in November of last year, after the official announcement of the Government where it was communicated that they will acquire 6 Airbus H-145M helicopters for the FAE, the first two of these aircraft are already flying.
As part of the normal certification process, test flights and customer acceptance, the H-145s in the very striking camouflage paint were captured by German spotters while they were performing some maneuvers at one of the most important Airbus Helicopters production plants.
With photos taken on 22 September 2020, both helicopters with provisional registrations D-HADT and D-HBTS could be seen flying from the center of Donauwörth, which is the headquarters of Airbus Helicopters in Germany and the second largest in the world where Airbus Helicopters are manufactured.

A total purchase of 6 of these teams that will have the mission of patrolling, search and rescue, equipment transportation, troops and more, seek to modernize and repower the helicopter fleet of the Ecuadorian Air Force, which will also be added to the recently incorporated four Augusta Westland AW119 Koala and on the training side, to the 8 new planes Grob G-120 TP, of which two have recently arrived in the country.
The framework for the incorporation of these new aircraft coincides with the next celebrate centenary of the FAE, that will be held 27 next october, where several activities are expected to commemorate this important historical date for Ecuadorian aviation.
