The Mercado Libre company now has its fleet of cargo planes based in Brazil, following in the footsteps of Amazon with Prime Air. Photo thanks to Rafael Ferreira.

With the airline name Meli Air, although this is not an airline as such constituted, Mercado Libre in Brazil began the operation of its cargo planes, leased to other companies specialized in air cargo transport.

Mercado Livre Brasil and its planes

you are not reading wrong, It's not a misspelling, is Portuguese in which the word Libre is written with V, from what you read on the fuselage of the plane Mercado Livre is well written.

As we know, The Mercado Libre company is a purely virtual company, but being the largest retail company in the region saw the need to expand its product portfolio and at the same time, decrease package delivery times in the huge country of Brazil.

Initially, there will be three Boeing 737-300F aircraft that will operate for Mercado Livre of the airline Sideral Linhas Aéreas and others that could be incorporated into the plan, that in one way or another follows in the footsteps of Amazon with its airline Prime Air.

The routes have been defined by Mercado Livre Brasil and will offer lower costs and better management of cargo transfer times nationwide, model that could be replicated in other countries of the region where the size of the market justifies it.

The first aircraft are the PR-SDM (already flying) and PR-WSA that will enter service in the coming weeks, both operated by Sideral.
