Spain has announced the easing of the entry of tourists to its territory with new health requirements. Photo Iñaki Calvopiña.
Betting on the reactivation of its economy focused on the tourism sector, Spain has presented new requirements that are already in force for the entry of foreigners into its territory.
It is like this since the week of 23 august 2021 The health requirements that travelers must meet in order to enter have been made even more flexible.
New entry requirements to Spain
All passengers must fill out a travel form through the website of the Government of Spain, or by downloading the app Spain Travel Health (SpTH) plus the respective documents such as passport or visa according to the immigration case of each traveler.
From this moment, travelers are divided into two groups, those fully vaccinated and those who are not, each one with its particularities and requirements that are detailed below:
Fully vaccinated passengers
Spain is open to passengers who are fully vaccinated and are exempt from quarantine and from submitting a negative COVID-19 test result.
What's more, each passenger must pre-register electronically prior to departure and travelers must bring proof of vaccination – The certificate/document can be requested at different points of the trip, which does not apply to passengers arriving from USA or a low risk area.

- Janssen

- Serum Institute of India
The certificate can be in printed or digital format and its authenticity will be verified by the Department of Health upon arrival, where you must have the name and surname of the owner, vaccination date of each dose, type of vaccine, country of issuance and body that issues the certificate in Spanish, english or french.
Passengers must have been vaccinated with their last dose of the vaccine at least 14 days before your arrival and passengers under 12 years are exempt from presenting a certificate of vaccination and neither a negative result of the COVID-19 test.
Unvaccinated passengers
- The tests accepted are the following: NAAT (PCR, LAMP, DARK) o Antigen test included in the common list of rapid antigen detection tests for COVID-19, published by the European Commission based on Council Recommendation 2021/C 24/01.
- In the case of the PCR certificate, the sample must have been taken in the 72 hours prior to arrival in Spain; in the case of the antigen test, said sample must have been taken in the 48 hours prior to entering Spain.
