Again, the use of facial mask on flights to/from and within Ecuador after resolution of the COE.
The Government of Ecuador Through the National COE, it has resolved to re-impose the obligation to wear masks on public transport due to the increase in infections both by C-19 and AH3N2 influenza.
Use of a mask
Although the information is not entirely clear, The official bulletin of the institution together with the Ministry of Health indicate that given the indicators of contagion, the use of face masks becomes mandatory in closed spaces as specified:
- Wearing a mask is mandatory in closed spaces, poorly ventilated places and where distancing is not maintained, for example: job, public transportation, classes, etc.
Although air transport is not literally indicated, when mentioning public transport and closed spaces such as an airplane or airport, the use of the mask is understood and becomes mandatory for passengers and aeronautical personnel.
Travel and entry requirements to Ecuador
Over the Entry requirements by air, these remain fully released (You just have to fill out the digital form that nobody reviews), not mentioning anything about it in the official bulletin published by the entities in charge of health in Ecuador.
The mandatory use of a mask on flights in Ecuador has already been confirmed by Avianca airlines, Equair and LATAM according to publications on their respective social networks.
