At the return of the campaign launch event Everything to fall in love, I was invited to see their Avianca VIP Gold lounge in Bogotá El Dorado, one of the 3 with which it has in this airport.
The Gold lounge is located in international departures on the third floor and is accessed by elevator at the exit of the main duty free on the food court level and is in front of the other lounge called Diamond, also from Avianca..
On national departures, Avianca has one more lounge, which was recently remodeled and we hope to meet soon.
Avianca VIP Gold Room
The Gold lounge is the largest of Avianca in El Dorado, it has an area of 1.300 square meters with a capacity for more than 300 passengers served simultaneously.
Inaugurated on 28 February 2013, with service every day 2:45 am a 23:00 hours and counts among its spaces with a family room, work zone, common area, rest zone, coffee and beverage station and food court.
The services of this room, among others are: snacks, beverages, unlimited Internet, TV, computers, games, air conditioning, showers, etc.
The spaces are wide and allow passengers to be accommodated in a comfortable way for all without feeling crowded despite the demand of the room.
Food offer includes sandwiches, Ham and cheese, tuna or vegetarian option and you can also make your own custom sandwich with various ingredients available. Other options like chocolate cake or vegetable noodle salad are available
There are sections with a more private environment for rest, eat or work, although there are no beds or armchairs designed exclusively for sleeping as they are found in other VIP lounges.
In collaboration with Samsung, inside the VIP room, there is an exclusive area for work, where there are computers open to use, printers and an exhibition area of the brand's latest gadgets for use and testing by users, as well as wireless chargers for charging compatible devices.
Within the selection of food and drinks, there is a bar with a varied selection of alcoholic beverages and they have their respective mixers. Consumption is not restricted, but always remember that boarding a plane in an intoxicated state is prohibited and could even, depending on the country or airport, carry an economic sanction and temporary imprisonment.
The general atmosphere of the VIP Gold lounge is designed for work, last minute meetings and talks before boarding the plane. This space is equipped with free unlimited WiFi, work tables and even personal showers for those who want to travel cooler and more relaxed.
Access to VIP lounges is restricted to only guests invited by the airline or LifeMiles Silver members or higher categories.. Some local credit cards also allow access to their facilities.
A good detail of this VIP room is the exclusive area for children, where there are televisions with children's shows, coloring books, tablets with games for children, toys and drinks like fruit juices. This space is also designed for parents, since there are work tables for adults while their children are entertained in this environment.
There is no announcement of flight departures, so there are information screens on the status and departure time of all international flights at that time at the Airport, in this way the user of the VIP lounge must be aware of the status of their flight to avoid surprises.
Food options are generally pretty basic, being the main base sandwiches, that can also be tailored to suit each user. Compared to other lounges, options feel a bit limited, but it might have been the time of our visit. Despite this, rotation and replenishment of food occurs regularly, always ensuring options are full and available.
How to enter the Avianca Gold VIP lounge?
Access to Avianca VIP Lounges can only be done if you are LifeMiles with Silver category or higher, with certain Colombian credit cards or with the invitation of the airline.

when i read the headline, I thought you were referring to the new Avianca VIP lounge in the National Terminal of El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá.; that room is really spectacular, i used it, precisely, the first day of its inauguration, a couple of weeks ago, and has nothing to do with any of the above, both national and international, since it is much more elegant,with a huge variety of hot and cold food (soups, salads, meats, cheeses, rice, etc.), showers -which were not offered by those in the national terminal- and really exquisite finishes, at the level of the exclusive Centurion lounges or the best airlines in the world.
I hope to meet that VIP room soon!
