We share some news and changes of LATAM Airlines in your operation passing from the Terminal 8 from New York to the Terminal 4 beside Delta, launches the Premium Economy cabin and ends the shared code with American Airlines.
The year has started with several innovations in the industry, today we review the first changes and news of LATAM Airlines Group with interesting changes in its operation:
LATAM moves its operation at John F Airport. Kennedy al Terminal 4 where delta operates
LATAM Airlines Group announced that it will relocate its operations to John F.. Kennedy (New York) from Terminal 8 al Terminal 4 from 1 February 2020. in this terminal, Delta operates over 90 destinations in the United States, Canada and the world.
This transfer will allow more fluid connections between LATAM and Delta flights in New York. From the 1 February 2020, passengers traveling in LATAM Premium Business class, in addition to the top tier categories of the LATAM Pass program (Black Signature, Black y Platinum) They will also have access to a VIP lounge in the same terminal.
LATAM will automatically update reservations for customers with itineraries to/from New York (JFK) from the 1 February 2020 onwards, taking into account the minimum connection times.
Since the announcement of the shared codes in december 2019 between Delta and LATAM Airlines Peru, LATAM Airlines Colombia y LATAM Airlines Ecuador respectively, approvals have been received from the competent authorities in the United States and Colombia. Regulatory permits are awaited in Ecuador and Peru, as well as the publication of the sale of said shared codes, during the first semester of 2020. LATAM affiliates in Brazil and Chile also plan to establish codeshare agreements with Delta in 2020, subject to regulatory approval.
End of codeshare agreements with American Airlines
LATAM will formally terminate its codeshare agreements with American Airlines on 31 of January of 2020. Customers who have purchased American Airlines tickets through LATAM prior to this date for flights from 1 February 2020 from now on they will be entitled to the same services, without changes to your travel conditions or tickets.
The agreements between LATAM and American Airlines for frequent flyers and reciprocal access to VIP lounges will remain in force until LATAM leaves oneworld.
Exit from the oneworld alliance
in september 2019, LATAM informed oneworld and its partners that it would leave the alliance. The company is evaluating an early departure date a year, and any changes will be communicated in a timely manner.
After your departure from oneworld, LATAM will maintain its bilateral agreements with most of the oneworld airlines (British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines and SriLankan Airlines), subject to final agreement.
LATAM launches new cabin class for national and international flights within Latin America
LATAM Airlines Group announces that it will introduce a higher cabin class, Premium Economy, on all its domestic and international flights within Latin America operated by Airbus A320 family aircraft (A319, A320, A320neo and A321; short and medium range aircraft), from the 16 march 2020.
From this date, LATAM will be the only operator that has a premium service throughout its network of 145 destinations in 26 countries and five continents, by having Premium Economy for short and medium range aircraft (familia Airbus A320) and Premium Business for long-range aircraft (Boeing 787, 777, 767 y Airbus A350).
Once implemented, LATAM will offer two classes of service on all flights operated by short and medium range aircraft: Premium Economy y Economy. Economy passengers will also keep the option of choosing LATAM+ Seats -with greater width and reserved space in the overhead compartments- on most of the company's flights.

I have traveled on the route from GYE to Santiago and for the same they use an Airbus A319 plane that is totally uncomfortable.
I estimate this plane is fine for short-term trips , not for a traveler of more than 4 hours
You should evaluate putting a more comfortable plane for this route

I hope they drop this customer abuse policy when working with Delta: Refundable tickets that do not refund. Uncompensated repeat delays. baggage theft. It is a line with zero respect for the customer
I am a user since 1989 when it only operated in chile evaluating the service and rates of the a worsened, It is just another monopoly but it does not stand out with better services such as rates » comfort , comfort,cleaning for economic service
