    14 October 1947: First flight to break the sound barrier via the Bell X-1 rocket aircraft piloted by US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Charles "Chuck" Yeager.

    4 October 1957: Launch of the first artificial satellite Sputnik.

    1 October 1958: US National Aeronautics and Space Administration Foundation. known as NASA.

    12 april 1961: First human to travel to outer space aboard the Vostok capsule 1 crewed by Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

    16 June 1963: First woman to go into space aboard the Vostok capsule 6 manned by Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova.

    20 July 1969: Arrival of the first man to step on the lunar surface made by the Apollo mission 11 made by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins y Edwin «Buzz» Aldrin.

    12 april 1981: First official launch of the North American space shuttle program Columbia.
