From the 1 September Colombia takes an important step, domestic flights return to operate on a large scale in the country, these are the routes.
After five months of staying on land, today phase one of the restoration of domestic flights in Colombia officially begins. In which flights will be restored in the 15 air terminals with the greatest impact on national and regional connectivity.
In collaboration with Juan Sebastian Henandez.
These flights in Colombia will serve the cities of: Barranquilla, Bogota, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Cucuta, Leticia, Medellin, Hunting, Meal, Pereira, Providence, Black river, San Andres, Santa Marta and Villavicencio.
The start of operations is thanks to the joint work carried out by the Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aeronautics (Aerocivil), airport concessionaires and airlines in order to effectively implement the different health protocols to carry out an air operation in harmony with the current circumstances and thus reduce to a minimum the possibility of contagion of a passenger with the SARS-CoV2 disease or coronavirus.
The effectiveness of the protocols has been proven since 21 of July, date on which the pilot flights began and to date have been carried out on four routes, all operated by the regional airline EasyFly with its ATR42-600 type aircraft. These initially connected Bucaramanga and Cúcuta, Later the connections between Bucaramanga and Rionegro were joined, Rionegro and Pereira, finally the recently reopened one between Rionegro and Cúcuta.

In order to control the capacity that an air terminal will have to serve a certain number of flights per hour, which must now guarantee that biosafety and social distancing measures are fully complied with, The “health slot” will be managed where airports like El Dorado will only be able to receive a maximum of six flights per hour, reducing to approximately 10% of the operations that were in place as of March of this year.
This is a new beginning, for which all entities involved are quite prepared. We wish the best of success to all airline companies in Colombia, for which the light at the end of the tunnel begins to illuminate from today.
