From Miami and New York American low cost airline Eastern Airlines plans to also have flights to Quito. Eastern press photo.
Follows the growth of Eastern and will add more frequencies in Ecuador, seeing opportunities in the market and before a good reception by the demand.
Additional to flights from Guayaquil to Miami and New York, plus the following that will operate from The Angels, the airline is also preparing to land in Quito.
With procedure started on 28 last October before the Department of Transportation – DoT (procedure approved on 23 November 2020), Eastern airlines requested to fly from Miami and New York to Quito at the following times, dates and days of operation with Boeing aircraft 767/777:
New York – Quito
Estimated flight start date from 11 of January of 2021 (subject to government approval by the United States and Ecuador, I would stay for March 2021):
- eastern flight 324 will operate on mondays, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, taking off from New York JFK at 03:00 and landing in Quito UIO at 09:40 with a duration of 6 hours and 40 flight minutes.
- eastern flight 325 will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays, taking off from Quito UIO at 22:00 and landing at New York JFK at 04:40 with a duration of 6 hours and 40 flight minutes.
Miami – Quito
Estimated flight start date from 11 of January of 2021 (subject to government approval by the United States and Ecuador, I would stay for March 2021):
- eastern flight 326 will operate on mondays, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, taking off from Miami MIA at 05:00 and landing in Quito UIO at 09:30 with a duration of 4 hours and 30 flight minutes.
- eastern flight 327 will operate on mondays, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, taking off from Quito UIO at 22:00 and landing in Miami MIA at 02:30 with a duration of 4 hours and 30 flight minutes.
with these flights, Direct operations between New York and Quito return after the closure of the route by Tame EP on 2019 and the airline will join the competition to Florida where American Airlines operates to Miami and with JetBlue that flies from Fort Lauderdale.

Very good information for us Ecuadorians who are always traveling to visit our people. We hope the tariffs are real, economic!!!
Let's hope so!
Nicholas; With the times you mention, would you understand that the aircraft will remain parked in Quito throughout the day until their return time?? Or perhaps they operate by ferry to fulfill their routes with Guayaquil, because due to the schedules, a NYC-UIO-MIA triangulation would not proceed, the schedules requested for Quito caught my attention.
Thank you very much for the first-hand information that you always provide us..
Hello david, I would think that they are tentative schedules of the request to the DoT, so they may possibly undergo changes in them. From what I understand of the requested schedules, would stay more than 12 hours of layover in Quito before returning to the United States.
I think there is a small error because on the Miami route it says that it takes off from New York but still a great report. YOU ARE THE BEST!
Updated, thanks for noticing.
