LATAM Airlines Group announced that, through its “Solidarity Plane” program, makes free domestic transport of vaccines available COVID-19.

This offer was made to governments where the group has domestic operations (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru) the free transport of COVID-19 vaccines on its regular domestic flights, once they are available in each country. As of November, the LATAM Group operated more than 17 thousand domestic flights in said markets offering passenger and cargo connectivity through 91 destinations in South America.

Solidarity Plane

The free transport of COVID-19 vaccines is the latest initiative of "Solidarity Plane" that has acted as an air bridge between South America and the world during the pandemic. From the 23 last march, the program has transported more than 900 health professionals for free, project that the group extended to 31 of January of 2021. in addition, the program has moved to 400 people with urgent medical care needs and more than 700 organs and tissues within South America.

On the other hand, through LATAM Cargo, Avión Solidario has transported more than 1.000 tons of cargo, mainly medical supplies such as masks, rapid tests for the detection of COVID-19, medicines, among other products, from different parts of the world to the region, benefiting Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The most important milestone in the transfer of medical supplies was that LATAM Cargo made the route to China for the first time, realizing 60 flights from the Asian country to the region.
