These requirements will apply to absolutely all travelers that enter Ecuador by air under the following conditions of the official resolution of the 23 from December to 2021:
Given the report of a new coronavirus mutation by UK authorities, the evidence of an increase in its viral transmission capacity, and to protect the health and well-being of the Ecuadorian population, The government has ordered the following initial measures and they may be expanded as more scientific evidence is found:

If the rapid antigen test is positive, the passenger will enter mandatory isolation for ten (10) days from the date of sample collection. Residents in Ecuador will do so at the address they declare upon entry.; and, In the case of passengers who do not reside in Ecuador and do not have an address to declare, they will carry out the isolation in any of the lodgings regulated by the Ministries of Tourism and Government.. accommodation costs, food and transportation will be covered by each passenger. In the case of having a negative result of the rapid antigen test, they must carry out the mandatory isolation for five (5) days, as long as they do not present symptoms.
- The aforementioned tests will be exempted for passengers under fourteen years of age and aircraft crew.
- In the event that a passenger upon arrival in Ecuador presents symptoms related to COVID-19 (thermal boost, tos, general discomfort, loss of smell, loss of taste, etc.), regardless of the result of the RT-PCR test and the rapid antigen test, You will be evaluated by MSP health personnel in the corresponding airport lounge and you will be transferred to the nearest health unit to complete the clinical evaluation..
- Passengers must fill out and sign, prior to disembarkation, the Passenger Health Declaration, which will be delivered to the health personnel of the MSP in the room established for this purpose at the arrival airport.

Good afternoon, Mr. Larenas. I am traveling to the United States next week., What are the requirements to be able to do it on COVID. Thanks
Here the updated information: https://www.nlarenas.com/2021/05/requisitos-para-viajar-hacia-estados-unidos/
Good night Nicholas, What do you know about the vehicle restriction to enter the Guayaquil airport?? Only one person should enter the car? or they can come in 2 to the parking lot and 1 you can enter the airport?
I have seen that they ask that only one person go to drop off or pick up passengers.
good night nicholas, a doubt , Elderly and disabled passengers must also bring the PCR test? because for them it was not obligatory.. Thank you very much!!
In the previous protocol, this particular, in the new one they have not indicated it.
Hello there, I have been out of Ecuador for more than a year and I returned on 27 to my family's house. For the purpose of entering, Am I considered a resident or will I have to isolate myself in a hotel??
What is your nationality? If you bring the PCR test you should not do isolation.
Hi Nicolas, If I travel from Lima to Guayaquil, final destination emeralds, with negative PCR. I have to quarantine in a hotel in Guayaquil?
No, no need to do any quarantine.
How can I get to the airport?, if my flight is at 2am? Is there an exception regarding the curfew? ?
It is understood that the boarding pass serves as a safe-conduct for transfer to and from the airport..
Hello there, Nicholas. I leave you some questions in case you can help me with any. Thank you very much in advance. Do you have any idea how the hotel business works?? Namely, Does the passenger have to take the hotel booked in advance? What happens if a European passenger arrives with a negative PCR but who has not booked any hotel and plans to stay in a private house? (amigo, couple, familiar, etc.)? Do they force you to make the reservation before you leave the airport? Do you know how they control that passengers go to hotels? And once inside the hotel, How are the passengers supposed to feed themselves for all those days?? Do they have to do all the meals served by the relevant hotel? Who controls that the passengers do not leave the hotel during the day?
Hello Pedro, the protocol changed and more details of this topic are clarified. It's posted here.
Question for those who have already traveled. I travel tomorrow and I have a PCR test with a negative result. Arriving at the airport, the protocol says that it must be presented (I suppose a representative of the MSP). How long does this process take??
I ask the question because I have to coordinate the transport from the airport to my destination and taking into account the time in migration, customs and additionally the issue of presenting the PCR test I don't know how long it would take now.
Thanks in advance
From what they have told me, take at least a few 40 additional minutes to the normal airport departure process.
Thanks for the information.
Yes, I also had the idea that it could be between 40 and 60 more minutes.
Thank you very much for the information Nicholas.. You are the only outlet that has confirmed from when the travel restrictions apply. excuse me if i ask you, what is your source for this information?
It is the resolution of the National COE, the PDF is at the end of the post.
