the new airline Galapagos Airway requested to be granted a domestic operating permit in Ecuador to operate the following routes. Reference photo, thanks to cqplanespotting.
This being the second time we heard about this company, after having been granted some frequencies to Galapagos that were previously assigned to Tame EP, Galapagos Airways has started the formalization of these frequencies, plus some more.
With procedure started on 9 June 2021, the newest airline in formation of the Ecuador has initiated its respective procedure before the National Council of Civil Aviation – CNAC and dated 18 October 2021 the operating permit was authorized for the provision of air transport service, public, domestic, regular, passenger, cargo and mail combined in the following terms and conditions:
- Quito – Store – Quito with ten weekly frequencies.
- Quito – Santa Rosa – Quito with seven weekly frequencies.
- Quito – Guayaquil – Quito with twenty-one weekly frequencies.
- Quito – Coca – Quito with ten weekly frequencies.
- Quito – Manta – Quito with seven weekly frequencies.
- Quito – Cuenca – Quito with seven weekly frequencies.
- Guayaquil – Cuenca – Guayaquil with seven weekly frequencies.
- Quito and / or Guayaquil – Isabela – Guayaquil and/or Quito with three weekly frequencies.
The type and class of aircraft with which it intends to operate, without specifying if they will be under the modality of lease or purchase are:
- Boeing 737 series year 1998 onwards.
- Embraer 190 year 2004 onwards.
Finally, the proposed operations and maintenance center will be located at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in the city of Quito.
