Leaving the pandemic behind, travel and event restrictions, one of the most important airshow in the world returned, held every two years at Farnborough Airport, Hampshire in England from 1948.
On the occasion of such an important show, I have condensed in this space the main novelties that since the 18 from July to 22 of July are generated from this space, where the main attractions are the aircraft orders by airlines in the world with the main manufacturers.
Farnborough 2022
With the participation of the most important exponents of the global airline industry, Farnborough has opened its doors to the public with a spectacular display of aircraft, air shows and conferences for all tastes.
Definitely, that one of the most important points always in this kind of events are the large orders that the airlines carry out, because I have condensed them in a single space by order of arrival or generation of the news:
Boeing
- With the rebound in demand for international air travel following the ongoing recovery in many domestic markets, Boeing projected demand for more than 41.000 new planes to 2041, underlining the resilience of the aviation industry two years after the start of the pandemic.
- Boeing presented its path towards the decarbonization of the airline industry:
- Renewal of the aircraft fleet
- Renewable energy sources as sustainable fuel, hydrogen, electric propulsion
- Improvements in operational efficiency
- advanced technologies
- At a signing ceremony at the Farnborough International Airshow, it was announced that Delta will order 100 planes Boeing 737 MAX 10, selecting the largest member of the family 737 MAX, with options for 30 additional aircraft.
- Boeing y ANA HOLDINGS, parent company of All Nippon Airways (ANA), held a signing ceremony at the Farnborough International Air Show to formalize an order for 20 boeing aircraft 737 MAX 8, with 10 additional options plus the selection of the new 777-8 Freighter for the cargo subsidiary.
- Boeing y 777 Partners today announced a new order and commitment of up to 66 planes 737 MAX, including a firm request for 30 737-8-200 ultra efficient and high capacity.
- Boeing y AerCap Holdings N.V. announced today that the global lessor is expanding its significant portfolio of 787 Dreamliner with an order of five 787-9 additional.
- Boeing y Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) announced that the aircraft lessor is expanding its portfolio of 737 MAX with an order of 12 planes 737-8 additional.
- Boeing y BBAM Limited Partnership (BBAM) announced today that the lessor is expanding its fleet of 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) with a firm order for nine additional 737-800BCFs.
- Azerbaijan Airlines will expand its Boeing fleet 787 Dreamliner and signs a memorandum of understanding to buy four more planes.
- Boeing and Qatar Airways finalize order for 25 planes 737 MAX to expand the Gulf Airline fleet.
- Boeing and Cargolux today announced that Europe's largest cargo airline has selected the 777-8 Freighter as the preferred solution to replace your fleet 747-400.
Embraer
- Eve Holding, Inc. presented today at the Farnborough Air Show its first eVTOL cockpit mockup (electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle) full-size along with Embraer.
- Embraer y LOT Polish Airlines, Poland's national airline and leader in Central Europe, announced at the Farnborough Air Show 2022 the signing of a Pool Program renewal and expansion agreement to support LOT's E-Jets fleet.
- Porter Airlines has placed a firm order for 20 Embraer E195-E2 airliners, that adds to his 30 existing firm orders.
- Alaska Air Group announced plans to augment its regional fleet with an order for an additional eight new E175 jets and options for 13 plus.
- NAC places order for two Embraer E190Fs with Astral Aviation.
Airbus
- The Royal Moroccan Forces have ordered a fleet of Airbus Helicopters H135 for primary military training missions..
- Airbus and several major airlines (Air Canada, Air France-KLM, easyJet, International Airlines Group, LATAM Airlines Group, Lufthansa Group y Virgin Atlantic) have signed letters of intent (LoI) to explore opportunities for a future supply of carbon removal credits.
- Delta Air Lines has confirmed orders for 12 A220-300 aircraft, bringing Delta's total firm order for A220 to 107 planes: 45 A220-100 y 62 A220-300.
- easyJet has confirmed a firm order for 56 A320neo family aircraft following shareholder approval.
- LATAM Airlines has ordered 17 A321neo aircraft to further expand its route offering, bringing the airline's total A320neo aircraft orders to 100.
ATR
- ATR announced that the Japanese airline Feel Air has signed the letter of intent for up to 36 ATR aircraft 42-600 and 72-600.
- ATR and the Japanese regional airline, ORC (Oriental Air Bridge), today signed an order for an ATR 42-600 to further support the airline's domestic operations.
- ATR ends the sale of another ATR 72-600 to the Central African airline Afrijet.
