Today I am going to tell you about what you can do and visit in Chicago, my favorite of the biggest cities, in the USA.
I don't know about you, but I have only been to Chicago once and it was more than enough to fall in love with this city, that of all the great, big of USA it's my favorite. It is multicultural with a wide variety of attractions, less chaotic than others and even more clean and orderly in general.
From world-class museums to stunning architectural buildings and a metro system which works very well, Chicago has something for everyone, but that yes, be prepared for very cold depending on the date you visit, but it's totally worth it.
I share a video with some shots I took in this beautiful city:
What to do in Chicago?
There are many more things to do, but when I went at the beginning of December, the cold was already -4 degrees and it even snowed, which prevented me from knowing even more details of the city and some attractions were left on the list, but despite this, I leave you some places and activities that you should do when you visit this beautiful city:
- Art Institute of Chicago: The Art Institute of is one of the most important art museums in the world. It houses a permanent collection of more than 300.000 artworks, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and decorative art. The park is famous for its attractions, like the Cloud Gate (Cloud Gate), a stainless steel mirror sculpture 110 tons, y el Crown Fountain, an interactive fountain with LED screens showing images of children's faces. From this park you can visit many other attractions or have easy access to the subway.
- Chicago Architecture Center: The Architecture Center is a nonprofit organization that offers walking tours, by boat and bus through Chicago architecture. Tours offer visitors the opportunity to learn about the history and evolution of the city's architecture.
- Shoreline Sightseeing Architecture River Tour: This tour is highly recommended, since you travel one of the lake canals that enter the city by boat and they explain the details of the incredible architecture of the city. If you are a lover of buildings and their history, recommended visit.
- Skydeck Chicago and 360 CHICAGO Observation Deck: if you want to enjoy the heights and a unique view of the city, these two attractions should be on your list, yes indeed, prices could be a little high.

With a medium pizza they eat 4 people calmly, so don't risk having leftover food, since this one comes with a lot of filling and is forceful.
recommendations
- Chicago is a large and diverse city, so it is important that you anticipate planning everything you will do.
- Use the subway to get around, you will save a lot of money. You can even take the subway from O'hare Airport itself.
- There are several unlimited passes perfect for tourists from 3, 7 O 30 days.
- The pass of 7 days costs only $20 and it also allows you to connect with buses, so it is highly convenient.
- You purchase these passes at the recharge machines available within the metro..
- The weather varies depending on the date of your trip, with warm summers and very cold winters.
- I recommend trying to travel in fall or spring to avoid extreme weather..
- It is a very safe city, but it is important to take the usual safety precautions and avoid neighborhoods like Englewood, South Chicago o Altgeld Gardens.
- It is a very expensive city (less than New York yes indeed), so it's important to budget your trip in advance.
- If you travel at the end of the year, there are some activities such as the lighting of the botanical garden, very pretty too.
I hope these recommendations help you for your next trip to Chicago., a city that I loved and that when I can, I will return without thinking twice.
