We review the list of all the new routes that opened last week in Latin America, kicking off the peak travel season in the world.
With the official start of winter for THERE IT IS which occurs on the last Sunday of October of each year, The highest travel season of the year has begun, with that, many routes also left. In fact, the 27 October they started more than 50 routes worldwide and six of these were from Avianca, but also JetSMART, Aeromexico and other Latin Americans marked their presence.
Among so many new routes that I publish on the blog, I thought it appropriate to summarize the routes that have been inaugurated in recent days so that we have a clear vision of these advances in the connectivity of our region.
The new routes in Latin America
Let's now review the list of the different new routes that have been opened to and from our region., where I do not rule out that there have been some additional ones that fell off my radar. We start.
New Avianca routes
This airline was one of the airlines that opened the most new routes in the last week of October, which are the following all operated on Airbus A320ceo and neo:
- Bogota – Chicago – Bogotá with a daily flight.
- Medellin – San Salvador – Medellín with a daily flight.
- Saint Joseph – Guayaquil – San José with a daily flight.
- Guayaquil – Buenos Aires – Guayaquil with a daily flight.
- Saint Joseph – City of Panama – San José with a flight.
- Quito – Punta Cana – Quito with a daily flight.
New Aeroméxico route
The Mexican flag airline was not left behind and presented a new route to its network of destinations:
- Mexico City – Newark – Mexico City with 1 daily Boeing flight 737 MAX 8.
New Arajet routes
The Dominican airline opened its new hub in Punta Cana and started all these new routes operated in Boeing 737 MAX 8:
- Punta Cana – Buenos Aires Ezeiza – Punta Cana 1 a daily flight.
- Punta Cana – Cancun – Punta Cana with 1 daily flight.
- Punta Cana – Kingston – Punta Cana with 2 weekly flights.
- Punta Cana – Guayaquil – Punta Cana with 2 weekly flights.
- Punta Cana – Lima – Punta Cana with 4 weekly flights.
- Punta Cana – Mexico City Santa Lucia – Punta Cana with 5 weekly flights.
- Punta Cana – Montreal – Punta Cana with 5 weekly flights.
- Punta Cana – Quito – Punta Cana with 2 weekly flights.
- Punta Cana – Santiago de Chile – Punta Cana with 3 weekly flights.
- Punta Cana – São Paulo Guarulhos – Punta Cana with 1 daily flight.
- Punta Cana – Toronto – Punta Cana with 5 weekly flights.
New JetSMART route
JetSMART also appeared on the radar with a new route from Argentina:
- Buenos Aires Airport – Lima – Buenos Aires Aeroparque with 1 daily flight on Airbus A320neo.
New American Airlines route
Airlines outside the region also arrived with new flights, although some seasonal:
- Dallas – Rio de Janeiro – Dallas with 1 daily Boeing flight 787-9
New LATAM route
Strengthening the Lima hub, The airline presented a new route to its network:
- Lima – Curitiba – lime with 1 daily flight on Airbus A320.
