Flight SWA2504 took off while private flight LXJ560 crossed runway 31C. When LXJ560 cleared the active runway, SWA2504 passed below 200 feet behind him. Summary of the flight

Southwest Airlines flight 2504 (SWA2504): The flight crew of SWA2504 reported that they were cleared by approach control for an instrument landing system approach (ILS) to runway 31C at MDW in visual flight meteorological conditions (VMC). During the approach, the captain was the pilot in command (PF) And the first officer (FO) He was the monitoring pilot (PM). The crew indicated that they contacted the MDW tower at RUNTS and received clearance to land on runway 31C.. The approach was without incident., and the autopilot remained engaged until approximately 500 pies AGL. As the approach continues, both the captain and the FO visually inspected the airport and noticed that a general aviation aircraft (GA) was taxiing on a surface perpendicular to its runway and they assumed it would keep ahead of runway 31C. The FO indicated that after hearing the audible call from the aircraft 100 pies, realized that the GA aircraft would not stop and was going to cross runway 31C. The FO requested a turn and the captain executed it. The flight crew indicated that standard return procedures were applied, and the maneuver was executed without problems and without incidents.

Flexjet (Lxj) flight 560: The crew of LXJ560 indicated that their flight was scheduled to depart MDW at 8:46 am local time. Before departure, declared that they completed all their tasks prior to the flight, They embarked a passenger, They started their engines and completed all relevant checklists. They indicated that they called MDW ground control and asked for taxiing instructions from the firm's ramp in "whiskey.", However, the crew stated that the response they received did not make sense to them. They were initially given clearance to taxi to runway 22L via taxiway F and hold ahead of taxiway 4L.. After the flight crew requested ground control to clarify taxi instructions, They were given a new shooting route of the skirting street to the Street of Filming F with a wait before track 04l/22r. When they were on the street of filming F, Ground control told them to turn left onto runway 04L., will cross the 31L track and then wait before track 31c.

The flight crew initially misread the instructions; However, The ground controller immediately reissued the instructions and received a correct reading.
