under the campaign #Tame Despega, these are Tame's plans to take off again and recover the ground it has lost in recent 2 years or a little more. Today we interview Ignacio Vallejo, Chairman of the Board of Tame EP.
A few ago 3 months and after the presentation of the new delegate of the Presidency in the Board of Directors of Tame, the former director of Iberia Ignacio Vallejo, Tame EP's short and medium-term plans to get ahead of the highly publicized crisis that it is going through and that has caused widespread discomfort among users and frequent users of the airline have gradually begun to be known.
Among these plans it has been mentioned: recover fleet to 11 planes (were 17 until the 2016), reduce at least 400 employees on the payroll, concentrate the national operation without closing more routes, maintain current international routes, incorporate a new ATR aircraft possibly ATR-72 version for domestic destinations where the current ATR-42 are too small, recover the still $6 millions of dollars that are stuck in Venezuela, heal the over $176 million dollars in accumulated losses in the last 4 years and others.
within this framework, We interviewed the Chairman of the Board of Tame during the event Routes Americas 2019, where we ask you about topics of interest to all of you, readers and also for the country in general, about the main airline of the country and flag carrier from Ecuador.

I aspire to resume the Quito Buenos Aires route since it was the only airline that had a direct flight, I even once traveled to the Club Atlético River Plate squad to play with Liga de Quito and I had to travel with them. Greetings
It was a good route, Unfortunately, due to airline issues, they had to close it. Let's hope they resume it.
It is the flag carrier and reducing operating costs is crucial as well as renewing the current fleet to overcome the financial crisis that TAME is dragging.
Regarding the fleet, the ATR72-600 would be the closest option to replace the Embraer 190 for domestic flights with less capacity but cheaper to operate and ensure higher occupancy. Similarly, a homogeneous fleet of the Airbus A320 family, hopefully NEO and finally Airbus A330s that bill more than any other in the current fleet.
Personally, I don't think they are from the version -600, their rent would be higher and would require longer training for current crews, therefore more expensive. surely they will be 72-500.
Hopefully another airbus A330 will increase and hopefully they will be 5 behind
Let's hope so, Tame needs more income.
It would be good if they fly to bs as again since they stopped flying in june 2016 The prices went through the roof no less than 680 and with Tame one could find 400 but they should improve the service since 6h and not a single movie.
Also, as I commented in another post, remove the high airport fees from Ecuador
Thanks Guille, for your contribution. I hope the outlook improves.
Guillermo:
Agree, for me to pay USD131 from Quito and USD123 from Guayaquil, as exit taxes, it's outrageous and embarrassing. They gave us tremendous goals from the automatic collection of these in the tickets and the subsequent move to the new airport in Tababela.
When I use miles to the US, I pay these amounts to leave Ecuador and USD5 to return from that country. Once, with award ticket, i paid 7 dollars to fly from Honolulu to Quito, that is to say, about, a journey of 14 hours, while in a one-hour trip to Bogotá, almost exceeds 20 times the amount.
