I present the TOP 10 of the best movies and series AvGeek, that to personal taste, are the ones that every aviation lover or passionate should see at least, once or a few 30 times.
This list is inspired by my personal tastes and surely more than one movie or series on the list for some of you will not be justified, and I invite you to leave your favorite movies in the comments and social networks to share with everyone.
I won't tell you what each movie and series is about in detail, the idea is that you yourselves see them and tell me what you think

1. Top Gun
If you like airplanes and you never saw Top Gun, Well, you must at this time, look for this movie and watch it. Yes OK, this famous movie released in 1986 It is from military aviation, and it could be that not everyone likes this military genre, it is a classic not to be missed, that I have personally seen her no less than 20 times.

The Feat on the Hudson, is possibly one of the best and most realistic movies of the aviation genre in the world. Its realization, simulations, 3D models and a great performance by Tom Hanks does it alongside Top Gun, My favorite movies. It does not occupy the first position only because of the affection, feeling and representation that the first had in the generation of the 80s.
Sully is based on the true events that occurred with the US Airways flight 1549, but I will not tell you more, They must see it yes or yes!

3. Flight – The flight
Another classic that self-respecting aviation lover must have seen, many times. Although this film is fiction due to the events that take place there, it is a great movie also because of the realism of the air operations, 3D models and the cool performance of Denzel Washington.

4. Mayday: Air Catastrophes
This National Geographic series is surely the favorite of all AvGeek, not only for how to know the chain of errors that generated a plane crash, but also, for the dedication and technical precision with which each one of the unfortunate air accidents is counted.
Son 16 seasons, so there are many chapters to see, but they are really worth it. Some accidents in Latin America have been dramatically depicted as the LAPA accident, Tame and Gol. Recommended!

5. SEP – Whisky Romeo Zulu
For me, it's a work of art about plane crashes. Made by the famous ex-pilot, director and actor Enrique Piñeyro, This film narrates disturbing details of the defunct Argentine airline LAPA until reaching the fateful accident at Aeroparque.
Quite technical and detailed, how could it be less when being directed by a pilot who lived the story firsthand, highly recommended, you can not stop staring at her.

6. Airplane! – And, where is the pilot?

7. American Made
It is quite new and possibly, not very well known. Here again Tom Cruise appears as the protagonist. In this story inspired by real life events, the facts are related of how the CIA hired a reckless pilot to carry out espionage and aerial photographs with a small plane, but it would end with an unexpected turn of business.
A lot of action, aeronautical realism and entertaining, I highly recommend it.

8. Airport Alert
Another National Geographic series showing how airports work, but specifically, the issue of controlling and combating drug trafficking. This series has been developed with 2 seasons in Bogota El Dorado from Colombia and with 1 season in the Jorge Chávez of Lima, Peru.
If you like to see how people get in trouble doing illegal things and see various airplanes too, this series is recommended, focuses more on the airport, which is also good to know and learn.

9. Catch me if you can – Catch Me If You Can
Here is a great clarification, this movie is not fully about airplanes, but it does have great moments. The hostesses and planes from Panama give the AvGeek touch that I love about this movie. Possibly, the performances of Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hanks, make it entered this list.
A case based on real life events, they make it a very funny and interesting movie, but when the aerial moments come out, they make it almost perfect. It would be amazing if you haven't seen it yet. It is worth repeating.

10. Mega Airport Dubai
One of my favorite series, since it shows the day to day and operation of what is the Dubai Mega Airport, the one that is already in the TOP of the most important and congested in the world. This series shows the behind the scenes of the daily operation of a terminal of the magnitude of Dubai and how every second and detail counts so that flights always leave on time.
Too, the operation of the Emirates airline is shown, that will surprise you with its ability to adapt to the changes that occur by the second at the airport. This series has 3 seasons and can be seen on National Geographic.

Missing Disney Pixar movie AIRPLANES…when you watch the bonus material on Blu-ray or DVD, there is a documentary by an aviation expert who was from the team of creators and writers; Jeffrey M. Howard.
It is one of the few movies that contains true aviation data, maneuvers, types of planes, etc, Besides being fun and it is a good way to inspire a child with aviation.

the mini series of 2 caps of the Spanair accident from 2008, called Flight IL 8714, It is very good and it is fully aeronautical, I don't think I saw it published. Found on youtube.

The movie premiered on Amazon Prime Video last week 7500, a thriller about a flight hijack in Europe, I saw it last night and it turned out very good, especially since the movie is shot from the cockpit of the plane, I recommend it, greetings Nicolás.
