The airline LATAM Airlines plans to fly to Quito and operate codeshare with Qantas Airways to Ecuador from Santiago de Chile on direct flights.

With flights from Santiago de Chile to Quito, a better way to be closer and easier to connect with Australia will be generated.

As detailed, Codeshare Agreement is approved, amendment No. 3 dated 3 October 2017 signed between LATAM Airlines S.A. (THE) y Qantas Airways Limited (QF), according to what is authorized by the National Council of Civil Aviation – CNAC in the Operation Permit for regular international public air transport services for cargo and mail passengers in a combined manner so that both the Chilean and Australian airlines operate:

• Santiago de Chile – Quito and/or Guayaquil and vice versa with a weekly frequency.

In the request for modification of the Operating Permit, LATAM Airlines requests that it be increased to 7 weekly frequencies the Santiago route – Quito and/or Guayaquil and return, with third and fourth freedoms of the air.

This order was approved in July.

Flights between Chile and Ecuador

how do you know, flights to or from Santiago from Ecuador are made today exclusively from Guayaquil with flights operated by LATAM Ecuador and LATAM Chile, which add up 8 weekly frequencies.

With the application approved and with recent declarations of the President of Chile Sebastian Pinera, the intention to start direct flights from Santiago to Quito by LATAM Airlines Chile is confirmed.

This route already operated for a short period between the years 2013 and 2014 by LATAM Ecuador, which made the route Guayaquil – Santiago – Quito.

It is still pending to know the plane (have Airbus approved 319/320/321 y Boeing 767) with which it is planned to fly this route, weekly frequencies and if there will be an additional scale, for example in Guayaquil for autonomy and weight in the return to Chile.
