Air France – Joon prepares to fly to Quito starting the 14 May with initially, 3 weekly flights to Ecuador. Photo thanks to Sven Timmerbeil.

Within the new route process, which already included the beginning of ticket sales between Ecuador and France, Air France has initiated a series of modifications to its operating permit, which has been in force since 31 august 2017.

It should also be noted, that Air France has denied that Joon operations will cease, in the meantime, Flights continue to operate normally as do ticket sales..

In this operating permit that was already authorized its modification last December, where Air France will be the airline that operates and its Joon product will be the one that flies, it stands out:

The airline will operate the following routes:

  • Paris – Quito – Paris with three weekly frequencies with the right to third, fourth and fifth freedoms of the air.
  • Paris – Amsterdam – Quito and / or Guayaquil – Amsterdam – Paris with seven weekly frequencies with the right of third, fourth and fifth freedoms of the air.
  • Paris Panama – Guayaquil and vice versa with three weekly frequencies and with the right of third, fourth and fifth freedoms of the air.
  • Paris Panama – Quito and vice versa with three weekly frequencies and with the right of third, fourth and fifth freedoms of the air.

The route that will operate directly to Quito will be the Paris – Quit as we have reported, while the other three routes via Amsterdam will be operated with its partner KLM and the way Panama will operate in agreement codeshare or codeshare with Copa Airlines, which has also been requested by the airline:

In the agreement that will be close to being signed, It is highlighted that Copa Airlines flights will be operated by airplanes Boeing 737-700 and version 800, while Air France and KLM will operate Boeing aircraft 777-200 and version 300 as well as the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Direct flights between Quito and Paris will be carried out with Airbus A340-300 aircraft operated by Joon, which will be an interesting complement to the flights to KLM that operates daily to Quito and Guayaquil and that with flights via Panama with Copa, will generate a great presence for the airline in the country towards the European market.
