The A321 is the largest aircraft in the A320 Family., the most successful aircraft family in the world. With a capacity of up to 240 passengers and with the incorporation of the most modern turbines, Aerodynamic advances and cabin innovations, The A321neo provides a reduction in fuel consumption of a 20%, and a range of 500 additional nautical miles.
VivaAerobus, Airbus customer since its origins, has based its fleet renewal strategy on the A320neo Family and has now received its first A321neo. On 2013, the airline placed an order for 52 A320 Family aircraft, the largest Airbus aircraft order by an airline in Mexico up to that time. At 2017, VivaAerobus also committed to the A321neo, when placing an order for 25 additional aircraft. Until today, VivaAerobus operates 37 A320s, including 19 A320neo.
Since the beginning of the pandemic COVID-19, Airbus and its customers embarked on the task of meeting the needs of the public during this difficult situation. VivaAerobus configured 10 Airbus A320 passenger aircraft in freighter format to contribute to the efforts against COVID-19 in Mexico and announced a campaign to transport medical professionals for free in the country.
