On Ecuador and the world, aviation must be accessible to all, where such a complex industry must be open to all of society.

Here I will talk about the special case of Ecuador, where in recent years aviation has been distancing itself from society and has been marked as a luxury and exclusive transport.

In a recent workshop on aeronautical journalism organized by the DGAC – General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Ecuador, I was able to talk with some journalists and airline industry personnel about various topics, among them, the aeronautical culture.

Between the various points of view, I told them about what happened to him. FAE parade in Quito and how other countries like Peru, aviation has been socialized to such an extent that we can see all social strata without difference inside an airplane.

This is the goal of aviation, unite people and enable them to go further regardless of their origin, gender or economic status.

The particular case of Peru, where it also enters Colombia, Recently Chile and Argentina as closest cases, are due to a single factor as the main, increased competition, lower airfare costs.

In this countries, the competition has grown at rates that we envy in Ecuador and are an example for the region and this has brought more options to fly, but above all, tickets accessible to all, where the competition ceases to be the same airlines and becomes ground transportation.

how was this achieved?

It does not depend only on more airlines arriving, how clear, For this to happen, the country has to be attractive for investment and have an attractive population along with destinations to exploit..

The main thing that these countries achieved so that more airlines fly and a reduction in prices is achieved was the flexibility of procedures, along with incentives intended to favor all those involved as passengers, airlines and airports.

Ecuador has enormous potential and yes, we need more airlines flying in our country, not only large ones that operate with aircraft over 100 passengers, but also, small regional with planes for 30 passengers who cover routes of low demand or generate new connections with planes with lower operating costs.

mediatically, it's still news high ticket costs in Ecuador as we reviewed previously in this post: www.nlarenas.com/2017/09/por-que-son-tan-caros-los-pasajes-aereos-en-ecuador/, but this can and will change over time, there are some projects on the table to start new airlines.

In the meantime, the authorities will be able to generate new incentives for these entrepreneurs and continue like this, promoting air connectivity for each and every one of the citizens of our country who want to travel and get to know Ecuador in less time and at a lower cost.
