Since May American Airlines will fly to Guayaquil with the Boeing 737 MAX, with which it incorporates its most modern aircraft to its services to this city.
Initially, for a single period of one month, from Miami International Airport, American Airlines will fly to Guayaquil daily with its most modern and efficient aircraft, the boeing 737 MAX 8.
This aircraft, which already operates with 2 daily flights to Quito, It will be the most modern aircraft operating at the José Joaquín de Olmedo Airport from 3 from May to 5 June 2019, as a complement to the other daily flight that this airline has in Guayaquil operated by Boeing aircraft 767-300.
the boeing 737 MAX 8 flies to Quito from April 2018 and that at that moment we were able to meet exclusively, has a capacity to 172 passengers in 2 classes which will imply an increase in 24 daily chairs available between Miami and Guayaquil.
With a lower emission of polluting gases and noise, the MAX 8 includes new technology and increased range with lower fuel consumption, what is convenient for the economy of the airlines that operate it.
The flights

the aa flight 933 with the MAX 8 to Guayaquil will take off at 17:09 and will land at 20:33

Back, the AA flight 948 will take off from Guayaquil at 05:15 hours and will land in Miami at 10:51 am.
This is not the first time that the MAX version will land in Guayaquil, since it has previously arrived on some occasions diverted from the Quito Airport due to bad weather, also from American Airlines, but it will be the first regular operation of the plane in this city.
For now, the operation is confirmed for one month in the airline's GDS system and its extension will be pending, depending on the availability of aircraft that will replace the version -800 V2 during this year
This plane will also start flights to Caracas, Cayman Islands, Managua, Maracaibo and Port-au-Prince from May.

Because reason they have to be until those dates?
Why are the dates chosen by the airline.
The 737 MAX is much more awkward, but at least they keep it on the morning flight, and the one at dawn remains as always in the 767. Hopefully they don't reduce that last one to a smaller size like they did in Quito.
Regarding the A321, operated on the morning flight for just over a month in 2016 O 2015, I do not remember well, but they returned to 738.
operated in the 2017 for a couple of weeks only the A321, sure they used those days to determine the feasibility of the plane on this route.
Of course, it is good to have a more modern aircraft serving GYE but from a passenger comfort perspective, it's not that comfortable. I hope it's just for a month, and from there they return with a 737 normal or even an upgrade to the A321.
Either way, one of the 2 flights to GYE will be with the MAX, the 321 it seems to me that it is affected in load and this flight moves a lot.
