The next edition of Routes Americas it will be in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2027, bringing airlines and airports together under one roof.
Puerto Rico has been officially selected to host the 20th edition of Routes Americas in 2027. The announcement comes after a 2025 historic for the island's tourism and airport industry.
Routes Americas 2027
The event, considered the most relevant forum for the development of air services in the hemisphere, will bring together decision makers from more than 90 leading airlines and airport authorities. The organization will be in charge of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (CTPR), marking the return of this prestigious meeting to Puerto Rican soil.
An expanding hub
The sustained growth of air infrastructure has been the catalyst for this designation. During the past year 2025, Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SEVEN) reported record numbers:
- More of 6.8 million arrivals, an increase greater than 3% interannual.
- Consolidation as a key bridge between North America, Latin America and the Antilles.
- San Juan is positioned as a benchmark in responsible tourism through the development of green infrastructure and eco-friendly transportation.
Steven Small, Director of Roads, highlighted the long-term vision of the island:
«Puerto Rico has a clear and sustainable international growth strategy. With the presence of the airlines with the greatest expansion in the region, Routes Americas 2027 "It will be the ideal platform for the destination to project its competitive value proposition to the world.".
For his part, Governor Jenniffer González-Colón emphasized the macroeconomic impact of the headquarters:
«This selection is an endorsement of the stability and vision of the island. It is a strategic platform to attract investment, generate jobs and project Puerto Rico as a reliable partner in the global economic sector and a hub’ of connectivity in the Western Hemisphere ».
For the executive director of the CTPR, Willianette Robles-Cancel, the event transcends logistics, focusing on the tourism value chain. The goal is to strengthen alliances with air operators to guarantee resilient and dynamic air access growth..
With this designation, Puerto Rico not only seeks to beat its traffic records, but to define the roadmap for commercial aviation in the Americas for the next decade.
