The airline Avianca presents retro airplane for its 100 years, it is an Airbus A320 which will carry the history of the company through the skies of the world.
From today the Airbus A320 with license plate N284AV will be flying, MSN 4284, with 9.4 years since your first flight, configured in two classes with 12 executive seats and 138 in Economics, powered by two CFM56-5B4 engines and arrived new directly from the manufacturer, with retro paint that the airline adapted to evoke the time of the years 50, the stage in which the image of Avianca looked blue on planes such as the Douglas DC-3 and DC-4, Curtiss C46, y los Lockheed L-749A Constellation y Lockheed L1049E/G Super Constellation.

This plane was also painted as a commemorative tribute to the celebration of the 100 years of Avianca flying uninterruptedly through the skies of America and Europe.
The first flight of this aircraft was AV9528 on the Bogotá – Barranquilla route and it will be flying to destinations in Colombia such as Bogotá, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Leticia, Medellin, Saint Andrew, Santa Marta; as well as international routes such as Lima, Miami, El Salvador and some destinations in the Caribbean.
Silvia Mosquera, Commercial Executive Vice President of Avianca, said:
“We started our celebration of 100 years returning to the house that saw us born as Scadta. This plane represents the history of the airline that has flown the longest uninterruptedly in the world and we wanted to evoke that golden age of the years 50, because it was precisely in that decade when we inaugurated the transatlantic connections to cities like Madrid, Hamburg, Frankfurt, among other, flying with that representative blue image”.
This plane was painted in the Avianca Maintenance workshop in Guatemala City, during 1,578 Hours, man (HH), with the work of 30 Guatemalan technicians, also breaking a paradigm of time for the painting of an airplane, since it was carried out in less HH and in less TAT (for its acronym in English – time around turn), that is to say, the return time of an aircraft to its normal operation was less than that established by international standards.

History and technology in the same plane
Customers flying on this aircraft will have the ability to connect to 10.000 feet high with Wi-Fi on board and enjoy the digital tools that Avianca has to facilitate your trip.
