The airline Peruvian Airlines confirms temporary suspension of its operations while it solves its financial problem in search of new investors.
After the suspension started on Monday 30 September 2019 where the Customs Tax Court seized the bank accounts of Peruvian Airlines, the operation of the airline was forced to be suspended due to the blockage of availability of funds to meet payment obligations with service providers, including payment for fuel.
Within this context, on Friday 4 October, the airline in the following statement, confirmed the indefinite temporary suspension of its operations until these facts are resolved:
Product of an embargo carried out by the Customs of Peru to all the accounts of Peruvian, due to difference in valuation in the temporary importation of 2 commercial aircraft as there is no Temporary Admission Law in the country, coercive action occurred resulting in lack of liquidity that affected our operations.
This embargo that generated the stoppage of our flights for half a day, I created distrust with travel agencies that significantly reduced their sales, further affecting the company's cash flows., not allowing its operation, situation from which we have not been able to recover, so we find ourselves in the unfortunate situation of having to suspend all our flights until further notice..
Faced with this situation, We are making efforts with new investors in order to revive the company in order to continue providing the important service that Peruvian represents for national aviation as it is the only Peruvian company that operates in the skies of Peru for more than 10 years.
We deeply regret the inconveniences that are being caused to our passengers and we reiterate our commitment to provide a prompt solution.. For information contact 716-600 o and Av. Pardo 495 Miraflores.
The Peruvian situation is complex, given that it also partly comes from the hand of the growing and demanding competition that has arrived in the country with Viva Air Peru and Sky Peru, which have rapidly displaced the airline in preference and market share.
With the current status of the airline, We can expect that its expected international growth will not materialize, which included flights to Quito, Santiago and Bogotá in a first stage, at least, not this year until this one recovers, if they achieve it based on their recovery strategy.
We will continue to report while waiting for a positive outcome for the airline so that it does not join those that have closed this year. definitely in the world.

Hi Nicolas,
Not long ago I accidentally discovered this website, They have been one of those pleasant surprises.
I am new following aviation topics in Ecuador, My interest is exclusively in the low cost airlines that are entering the market, but with this issue of the increase in some fuels, I was wondering if this is going to affect the already existing low cost airlines or potential ones that showed interest in entering the country. (Like the one you mentioned in a past post, the chilean sky).
Thank you for your comments and for the informative work you do on this page..
Greetings
Freddy L.
Hi Freddy, the increase is only for fuels used by cars, not for the Jet A1 which is the plane.
