This protocol is valid only for flights between Guayaquil – Quito and vice versa. The rest of destinations within Ecuador are exempt from this requirement.. For Galapagos file is fasting.
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works, together with the Ministry of Public Health and after a meeting with the airport operators of Quito and Guayaquil, and the airlines that maintain flights between both cities have agreed that for domestic flights, passengers must present a negative COVID-19 test according to the following statement:
- Issue an extension to the day 21 august 2020, for the application of COVID-19 tests, at the place of origin of the flights between the cities of Quito and Guayaquil, under the following rules:
- Passengers who have a negative PCR or quantitative test carried out in authorized laboratories may travel until 72 hours before boarding.
- Those who do not have these tests, Rapid tests may be carried out in authorized laboratories or at points set up at airports., even with 24 hours in advance of the day and flight time.
- If the result of the qualitative rapid test gives a positive IgM result, the traveler will not be able to board until a confirmatory RT-PCR test is performed showing a negative result.
- Si la prueba rápida cualitativa indica sólo “C” y “T” (Control y Test) and does not indicate IgM/IgG, A positive T result will disqualify the traveler from boarding until a confirmatory RT-PCR test is performed showing a negative result..
c) This requirement will remain in effect until the day 21 august 2020. From that, The tests will be random at the airport of origin.
d) The concessionaire companies of the Quito and Guayaquil airports will coordinate the control and taking tests in conjunction with the health and municipal authorities..
For domestic flights, in the case of people who carried out the APO in temporary accommodation establishments, the RT test should not be performed- PCR, since the APO completion certificate issued by the Ministry of Public Health will be the enabling document to board the flight.

Hello david, for the commercial flight between Quito and Guayaquil, the PCR test must have 72 maximum hours or rapid test 24 maximum hours. You can do the quick one at the Quito Airport.
