In this post we review the aviation passenger statistics of the Ecuador during the 2019, to put it in the new context of the industry.
In the last weeks some newsletters of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Ecuador were published regarding the country's aviation statistics since flights were restarted after the declaration of health emergency on 1 last june, It's time to put the context with the 2019.
Within this context, many of you have asked me about how many passengers flew in the country last year., data that I had not published as I usually do at the beginning of the year due to all the known public events.
Statistics 2020
Okay, Now we go through the general statistics of Ecuador during the 2019, but first let's review what was published by the DGAC of the last two months of all regular services, non-scheduled international, domestic and private:
- June of 2020: 28.146 passengers.
- july 2020: 56.008 passengers.
Comparative 2019
- June of 2019: 612,109 passengers.
- july 2019: 687,052 passengers.
Between July and June there is a growth on the 110%.

Let's get into what these lines inspire, air transport passenger statistics in Ecuador during the 2019:
International passengers regular service
- Total incoming and outgoing passengers: 4.387.073 passenger.
- Growth of 1.91% with respect to 2018.
Quito airport
- Incoming and outgoing passengers: 2.312.505 passenger.
- 52.71% of Ecuador's traffic.
Guayaquil airport
- Incoming and outgoing passengers: 2.051.983 passenger.
- 46.77% of Ecuador's traffic.
Esmeraldas airport
- Incoming and outgoing passengers: 22.585 passenger.
- 0.52% of Ecuador's traffic.
International passengers non-regular service

- Decrease of -5.73%.

- Incoming and outgoing passengers: 2.579.125 passenger.
- Decrease of -6.85%.
Guayaquil airport
- Incoming and outgoing passengers: 1.700.807 passenger.
- Decrease of -8.25%.
Non-regular service domestic passengers
- Total incoming and outgoing passengers: 96.942 passengers.
General Aviation – private air service
- Incoming and outgoing passengers: 159,807 passengers.
- were made 87.661 flights/operations.
- Growth of 1.38%.
