the american airline JetBlue announces that it will have new flights between the cities of New York and Bogota with planes Airbus A321neo o A320. JetBlue reference photo.

Among a wide range of new destinations in the United States, Central America and the Caribbean, what I call “semi low-cost” JetBlue reported that it will inaugurate direct flights between New York and Bogotá, route that will operate with its newest and most efficient aircraft.

Despite the complex situation experienced by the airline industry, where generating new connections and opening destinations would not be the common denominator of airlines, Companies like JetBlue are taking advantage of the situation and apparent disadvantage of the large airline groups in the region to continue growing.

Will introduce service to four entirely new destinations as part of broader plan to add 24 new non-stop routes in the first half of 2021. Between February and June, JetBlue will land for the first time in Miami; Key West, Florida; Guatemala city; and Los Cabos, Mexico.

Nine of the 24 routes will serve four new JetBlue Focus Cities destinations, and the 15 Remaining markets will link existing JetBlue cities with new nonstop service. All routes are intended to generate immediate cash revenue and capture traffic where the airline anticipates customer demand.

Flights between New York and Bogotá will begin in the first quarter of 2021, with a date yet to be confirmed as well as the start of ticket sales.
