NASA made history by completing the first flight of an aircraft, In this case a helicopter, the Ingenuity on the planet Mars.
Monday 19 april 2021, NASA's Ingenuity Mars helicopter became the first aircraft in history to perform a controlled, powered flight on another planet. The altimeter data indicates that Ingenuity climbed to its maximum prescribed altitude of 10 pies (3 meters) and maintained a stable stationary flight during 30 seconds. Ingenuity's initial flight demonstration was autonomous: piloted by guidance systems, Onboard navigation and control running algorithms developed by the JPL team.
