Air Europa will exceed in the second semester the levels of places and occupation of 2019 and will add to its fleet five new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

After successfully completing the transformation process that began a little over a year ago to recover its operating profitability, Air Europa This April, a new stage of expansion begins, which is based on a notable increase in sales since the end of last year.. In the second half of the year, the airline will exceed the seats available on its main routes from the hub of Barajas, and will continue to increase its offer with the incorporation of eleven new aircraft throughout this year with which it will be able to operate in its entire network of destinations in America. Thus, the summer season is being faced in the best possible conditions around a fleet that will have been unified almost entirely around the most modern models, efficient and sustainable market.

Air Europa will add to its wide-body units five new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, four of them thanks to the lease agreement reached with Norse Atlantic Airways. The Dreamliner consume a 20% less fuel than similar models on the market and provides one of the best flight experiences, especially in long haul operations.

The expansion of the long-distance fleet will also be completed with an increase in its narrow-body fleet with six new units of the model Boeing 737, which will be added progressively over the coming months. Its seat capacity will contribute to responding to the increase in the number of passengers while maintaining, you too, the efficiency and emission reduction criteria. This year, the long-haul fleet will once again be the same as in 2019.

This expansion plan will reinforce Air Europa's strategic role in the Madrid-Barajas airport hub. The activity from this node will reach the levels prior to the appearance of the pandemic on the company's historical routes, even improving the available offer and the number of passengers transported. The places offered for this second semester will exceed 5% those of 2019.

The data corroborate a significant recovery in activity in recent months, especially in the long haul. The increase in passenger demand has allowed the reactivation of routes from Barajas, exceeding levels of 2019 and demonstrating once again the importance of the company in the air corridor between Europe and America.

Throughout 2022 will reach a total of 23 destinations in the American continent, to which others join 33 in Spain and Europe. By last, the fleet unification allows not only to increase the number of seats per plane, but also to optimize the number of flights and increase the offer in both economy and business class.
