KLM presented its new Premium Comfort travel class; an intermediate travel class between the two products currently offered by the airline – World Business Class and Economy Class.
The Premium Comfort Class offers more space, luxury, service options, comfort and privacy, in relation to the Economy, at very interesting prices. This intermediate class allows KLM better meet the needs and expectations of travelers flying for business or tourism.
KLM Premium Comfort
It's a whole new class of travel in your own, separate cabin, with a new type of seats. The service on board and the catering have exclusive characteristics. Depending on the type of aircraft, the capacity of the Premium Comfort Class will vary between 21 and 28 seating, much wider than standard seats, with more legroom, footrest and a larger individual screen.
Seats in Premium Comfort Class also recline more than Economy Class seats. The reconfiguration of the aircraft cabins will be carried out by specialists from the KLM Engineering and Maintenance division, at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Catering
The Premium Comfort Class will have a distinctive on-board dining concept. One or two hot meals will be served on intercontinental flights, depending on the duration of the flight. There will always be meat options on the menu, fish or vegetarian dishes. After lunch, passengers will be offered coffee, tea, digestive and ice cream. A variety of snacks and cocktails will also be served between meals, to be selected, largely, among the most appreciated by World Business Class travelers.
Lightweight and reusable
The seats in the Premium Comfort Class were designed by “Collins Aerospace” together with specialists from KLM's Customer Experience area. In addition to its elegant design and comfort, the seats are also lighter than previous seat designs. The same care was taken in the selection of materials for the catering service for the Premium Comfort. Or are they reusable? (special cutlery, deep plates and light polypropylene plates) O, the ones that aren't, are made from recycled PEF or Polyethylene Furanoate. All materials were carefully evaluated in terms of circularity and weight., without neglecting the aesthetic characteristics.
Service
The Premium Comfort travel class experience will begin at the airport, where passengers will have more flexible options regarding their luggage and access to SkyPriority circuit privileges, as preferential check-in and boarding.
