with this order, over the years, Delta has returned to order the A220 four times, being today the largest customer and operator of A220.
"These 12 “Additional A220 aircraft will help fuel our increasingly optimized fleet while providing our customers with the superior flying experience they expect from Delta.”, says Kristen Bojko, Delta Air Lines Vice President of Fleet.
Delta took delivery of its first Airbus A220 in October 2018 and was the first US airline to operate this type of aircraft. Delta currently owns a fleet of 415 Airbus aircraft, included 59 A220 aircraft, 266 A320 family aircraft, 62 A330y 28 A350-900 aircraft.
The A220 It is the only aircraft designed specifically for the passenger market. 100-150 seating, that combines state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials and Pratt's next-generation GTF™ engines & Whitney. The A220 offers customers a 50% less noise and NOx emissions a 50% lower than industry standards.

With 246 Airbus A220 delivered to 16 airlines operating on four continents, the A220 is the optimal aircraft to offer operational flexibility for both regional and long-haul routes. Till the date, more of 70 Millions of passengers have enjoyed the A220. The fleet currently flies in more than 825 routes and 325 destinations around the world. At the end of December 2022, some 30 customers have ordered about 800 A220 aircraft, confirming its leading position in the single-aisle small aircraft market.
