¡Nuevo flight report! Today I will tell you what it is like to fly with Delta Air Lines from your hub in Atlanta to him Quito airport.
This time we are going to talk about an airline that, perhaps, some of you have not heard before or were unaware that it operates in Ecuador. We refer to Delta, one of the largest airlines in the USA.
On Delta Air Lines maybe you don't hear much, but its importance in the connectivity of Ecuador It's fundamental, given that since his hub at airport with the highest passenger movement in the world, Atlanta, we can connect to more than 270 destinations on six continents, crazy.
We flew with Delta from Atlanta to Quito
Thanks to this great connectivity option, Not only Ecuadorians can reach the world, but also that it helps more tourists from far away points in the world to visit us.
It is therefore, and given that perhaps few know about this airline, I am going to tell you in this report details of the airline's operation in Quito and how is your service on these flights.
To get warm, I share the official video of this report, where you can find out even more details about the flight, Don't forget to share it and join the channel YouTube if they haven't already:
We started the trip back to Ecuador from Chicago, where I spent a few days getting to know such an orderly and beautiful city. Given the distance from the hotel to O'Hare International Airport that required 1 hour by subway approximately, I went to the Terminal 5, where it operates Delta, with an anticipation of 2 hours.
Why so long if the flight was domestic initially? Although you start on a domestic flight, at your starting point of travel within USA they will review all your documents and travel requirements of the final country of destination, plus the suitcase that was checked to Quito.
For these procedures it is important to arrive with additional time. They checked my passport and they only asked me if I met the health requirements of Ecuador, what was filling out the form, they didn't even see it.

I will tell you a peculiarity of flying in winter times in the United States, even more so in the north zone such as Chicago, given the temperature that day (-4° Celsius) and snow showers, the plane had to undergo the process of de-ice the de-icing, which implied that we take 1 additional hour check out process, you already imagine, the flight is delayed.

There is not much to comment on the flight between Chicago and Atlanta other than that the service consisted of a soft drink and a snack of your choice between chips and cookies. No news was presented other than the delay that I told you about above, so several people inside the plane were concerned about their connections, me included.

We arrived at Terminal A gate 1, so it was totally far from my gate of the flight to Quito which was the E8, so an important recommendation is to go immediately to your door, if you don't know atlanta, this airport is huge and getting from one terminal to another takes time.

remember that you bag is checked to final destination, so don't worry about it and you can use the Delta app to see where it is in real time for your peace of mind. Once off the plane, locate where you are and follow the signs, although it is a huge airport, It is very well signposted and if you pay attention, you are not going to lose.

If you have time to spare you can eat something in the food options available, shop duty-free or take it easy, but if it is not the case, the fastest way to go to another terminal is with the autonomous airport train, that passes through each terminal each 5 minutes on average.

This tour took me from the time I got off the plane to gate E8 a total of 15 minutes, really little time if we take into account the distance. Note that you can also walk from one terminal to another, but it will be much longer.

The flight to Quito was fully booked in all 3 classes available. This Boeing 757-232 with winglets license plate N6713Y with 22 years from your first flight on the airline is set to 199 passengers divided into three classes (20 in first class, 29 in Comfort + and 15th in Economic).

The plane inside is in an excellent state of care and its seating and interior were recently renovated, so it feels like you're boarding a new plane, it doesn't look like a classic Boeing 757, if you don't know aviation you would think it's a new Airbus A321.

Now let's talk about the operation. Delta operates one daily flight Monday through Friday from Atlanta at the following times:
- DL633 takes off from Atlanta at 2:55 pm and lands in Quito at 8:10 pm.
This schedule is very attractive to reach Quito, since at that time migration and customs do not have a high demand, which allows you to leave in less than 15 minutes to go to your home or hotel.
in the other direction, the flight lands in the strip of 5 am, so it is the first international flight to land at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and sometimes you have to wait inside the plane for a few minutes until they open immigration. The operation is at this time:
- DL632 takes off from Quito at 11:55 pm and land back in Atlanta at 5:15 am the next day.

these planes, have a great advantage for the passenger, that offer WiFi service with coverage only within USA, but what if you don't want to pay, you can send free messages.

If you didn't know, Delta is a traditional airline, so it offers a food service on board. In economy class in service it is made up of two options: chicken sandwich, cheese and vegetables or a selection of cheeses plus drinks of your choice.

Before or during the meal or if you cannot sleep, seat screens offer a great choice of first-run movies, classic, series, music and even live television. An additional point in favor of the user.

A pleasant experience flying again with Delta, and it is understood why it is one of the best and most valued worldwide for its service.
Do you want to know any additional information about the airline or the flight that I did not mention?? I read them in the comments or networks.

Hi Nicolas, In a few days I will fly to New York and in the same way I have a layover in Atlanta, I would like to know if I have to go from the international terminal (that I imagine that I arrived because I left from Ecuador) towards the national terminal, because the next flight (Atlanta- New York) it would already be within the same country, TRUE?
You have to check the information screen or the Delta app at that time to find out which terminal your flight leaves from, since in some opportunities the terminal of your international flight could coincide with that of the domestic one, It is very variable.
One of the best airlines in the USA without a doubt. Excellent client service. Hopefully we will see a reopening to GYE in the next few years. I was surprised by the service that on a flight of almost 5 hours did not have a hot service. thanks for the report !
I thought the same, I expected something hot, but I assume that if the flight lasted longer, they would give another superior service. Thanks for your input!
