Cathay Group of Hong Kong has announced the purchase of 32 additional family aircraft Airbus A320neo while continuing to invest in expanding and modernizing its fleet.
The Cathay Group, based in Hong Kong, announced the 29 September 2023 a request for 32 additional Airbus A320neo family aircraft. It is agreement doubles the Group's total orders for the A320neo family to 64, of which 13 have already been delivered in recent years.
The 32 additional aircraft will comprise the A321neo and the A320neo, who will join the fleets of Cathay Pacific and HK Express and will primarily serve destinations in mainland China and elsewhere in Asia.

With a significant reduction in fuel consumption, The aircraft will also immediately contribute to the Cathay Group's sustainability goals..
The A320neo Family incorporates the latest technologies, including new generation engines, Sharklets and aerodynamics, Which together offer at least one 20 percent less than fuel consumption and saving CO2 emissions. More than 9.700 orders of more than 130 customers, The A320neo family is the most popular single-aisle aircraft in the world.
Cathay's A320neo aircraft will be equipped with CFM International Leap-1A engines, offering superior performance and a significant reduction in fuel consumption. The planes will also have Sharklets, which are wingtip extensions that improve aerodynamics and performance.
The Cathay Group hopes that the A320neo aircraft will allow it to increase its passenger and cargo capacity by 20%. The planes will also allow Cathay to offer a better travel experience to its passengers, thanks to its greater comfort and space.
