Colombian airline had requested a new route to be able to operate flights between the airports of Saint Andrew and Guayaquil, plus two new routes from Medellín.

Well it seems that had is cooking up new possible direct routes from other airports without passing through Bogotá, having requested before the competent Colombian authority the inclusion of three new routes to its international operating permit.

concretely, There are three routes that Avianca requested to fly both from Saint Andrew as from Medellin, I'll tell you more details below..

avianca requests flights to Guayaquil, Lima and Santiago

In addition to the routes that the airline has announced during the year, There are new ones that are beginning to make their way into the possible network of new Avianca destinations for the 2024.

concretely, AVIANCA S.A submitted the application for the following routes in addition to its current operating permit:

  • Saint Andrew (ADZ) – Guayaquil (GYE) – Saint Andrew (ADZ) with up to seven weekly frequencies on A319 aircraft, A320, A320N with third and fourth rights freedoms of the air.
  • Medellin (MDE) – Lima (LI) – Medellin (MDE) with up to seven weekly frequencies on A319 aircraft, A320, A320N with third and fourth freedoms of the air rights.
  • Medellin (MDE) – Santiago de Chile (SCL) – Medellin (MDE) with up to seven weekly frequencies on A319 aircraft, A320, A320N with third and fourth freedoms of the air rights.

Cabe indicar también que, avianca Ecuador ha solicitado la misma ruta hacia San Andrés, But in the opposite direction with date 14 of November:

  • QUITO y/o GUAYAQUIL – SAN ANDRES (Colombia) and vice versa, with up 7 weekly frequencies and with rights of 3rd and 4th freedoms

If the request for flights between Saint Andrew and Guayaquil, This would be the first time that both destinations connect directly on a regular flight., since there have been flights under charter mode.

None of these routes has an exact date of potential start of operations by Avianca Colombia and as I have mentioned on other occasions, every time an airline requests a route, It does not mean that I will operate it immediately in the short term., but it does allow us to know the airline's intentions for certain markets or destinations..

Having said that, We will continue to update based on new information or confirmation of the intentions of had be realized in the future.

  1. I do not see much future to the Gye Adz route first than with much more movement Cerro the Route Gye Mde and second San Andres could not compete even for galapos in any way
In the aerial aspect you would get a passage between 2 and 3 times less galapagos
She is not crowded with a tourist and much more security
Rather, it would return to flights from gye or uio to lim that it is monopolized only by LATAM to lower trips via Bogotá or Panama
