The airline JetBlue announced the suspension of three routes, stopping flying from Fort Lauderdale toward Quito, Lima and Bogota.

JetBlue is at a complex moment in its history, after having been denied its merger with Spirit Airlines, The situation has become complicated in the company and it will have to adjust.

Within this adjustment, labor issues have been seen, fewer planes and therefore, fewer routes and cancellations of destinations have been occurring since last year and will continue this 2024.

JetBlue stops flying to Quito, Lima and Bogota

With official statement sent within the airline, JetBlue reported the upcoming suspension of its operations to the three destinations in South America indicated from the next 13 of June.

Along with other destinations that I will mention below, JetBlue will suspend its flights to Bogotá, Colombia; Quito, Ecuador; Lima, Peru; and Kansas City, Missouri, in June, and flights between Fort Lauderdale, Florida, y Austin, Atlanta, Nashville y Salt Lake City, as well as between New York and Detroit.

The airline, within this restructuring process, will also reduce its departures from the Los Angeles International Airport of an average of 34 flights per day to 24 frequencies, focusing on routes between both coasts of the USA profitable where you can offer your business class Mint, according to the statement sent to the staff and which has been spread on social networks.

Other routes that end in June are:

  • Aguadilla – Tampa
  • FLL – Atlanta, Austin, Nashville, New Orleans y Salt Lake
  • The Angels – Cancún, Las Vegas, Liberia, Miami, Vallarta Port, Reno, San Francisco y Seattle
  • New York – Detroit
  • Orlando – Salt Lake City

In the statement, The airline indicated that the closure of Quito, Lima and Bogotá is due to the low profitability of these routes and that it will focus its efforts with its aircraft on routes with greater economic performance..

If you are a passenger affected by this cancellation, I recommend you contact JetBlue directly or visit the website's reservation center with your code to manage changes or returns.

I will continue to update any new information that may become available.
