From 13 of January of 2026, Copa Airlines will have flights to Puerto Plata, This will be the fourth destination operated by the airline in Dominican Republic.

Copa Airlines, subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A. and member of the global airline network Star Alliance, announces the incorporation of a new route to and from Puerto Plata in Dominican Republic from 13 of January of 2026. This city becomes the fourth destination operated by the Airline in the Caribbean country, beside Punta Cana, Santo Domingo and Santiago of the Knights, expanding connectivity options for passengers in the region.

“Starting in January 2026, Copa Airlines will open operations in Puerto Plata and resume flights to Santiago de los Caballeros, expanding connectivity in the Dominican Republic. These routes promote cultural and economic exchange, They promote tourism and business in both cities, and promote the arrival of more visitors to Panama through our Panama Stopover program, consolidating our Hub of the Americas® as a key connection point for the Caribbean.”, said Pedro Heilbrón, CEO of Copa Airlines.

Recognized as the city that promoted tourism within Dominican Republic, Puerto Plata, located on the north coast of the country, stands out for its natural and cultural diversity, and a gastronomy that fuses indigenous flavors, Africans and Spaniards, offering a variety of typical dishes and Caribbean flavors. In addition to its white sand beaches and history, the city offers authentic experiences such as visiting rural communities, learn merengue with local musicians or explore sports culture at the Bartolo Colón stadium and museum.

From 13 of January of 2026, Copa Airlines will begin operating this new route with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, friday and sunday. The flight will depart from Tocumen International Airport in Panama at 7:26 a.m. (local time), arriving at Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Dominican Republic at 10:51 a.m. (local time). El vuelo de regreso saldrá de Puerto Plata, Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 11:51 a.m. (local time), aterrizando en Panamá a las 1:36 p.m. (local time).
