The Airports Council International – Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) It presents the ranking 2024 of the best performing airports in the region, based on passenger traffic, aircraft and air cargo movements.
The rankings of 2024 reflect the heterogeneity and dynamism of a region where air transport is key to its socioeconomic progress and airports play an increasingly important role as engines of development.
The busiest airports in the region
For the first time, the El Dorado International Airport (BOG) from Bogota, Colombia, is crowned like the #1 of Latin America and the Caribbean in the three main categories:
- passengers: 45.8 millions (+16%)
- Aircraft movements: 360,044 (+13.4%)
- Air cargo: 809,021 tons (+5.1%)
On 2024 The Golden experienced spectacular growth in both passenger traffic and air operations (16% and 13% respectively), in addition to maintaining its leadership as the most important cargo center on the continent (rotate the screen if you are watching on your cell phone).

Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU), that serves Mexico City, appears for the first time in the rankings of the main airports of the continent, multiplying the cargo volume by two in the last year, and is positioned as a new logistics center in the region.
The most important by movements
Sao Paulo Guarulhos Airport experienced significant growth in air cargo and occupies a solid second place on the continent.
