Aeromexico announced that it increases its flight frequencies to the Airport of Quito from city of Mexico and also to other destinations.
From 2 of May, Aeroméxico will increase frequencies to Ecuador from Mexico City and will be operating 9 weekly flights. Aeroméxico connects both destinations from the 2013 and was the first Latin American airline to resume operations in Ecuador, after suspensions caused by the pandemic.
What's more, During the contingency, the airline transported to that country almost 30 tons of essential medical supplies with their Boeing 787 Dreamliner, through Aeromexico Cargo.
Ecuador is considered one of the main air bridges in South America, offering gastronomy and diverse tourist activities, besides being the largest producer of cocoa in Latin America. It also offers a wide variety of extreme sports, activities in nature and has one of the most important biosphere reserves worldwide, as are the Galapagos Islands, declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The second daily frequency will operate on Fridays and Sundays at these times:
- Flight AM759 takes off from Mexico City at 01:05 hours and lands in Quito at 05:40 in direct flight after 4 hours and 35 minutes.
- Flight AM760 takes off from Quito at 08:30 hours and lands back in Mexico at 13:15 hours after 4 hours and 45 minutes.
Currently, to enter Ecuador it is necessary to have a PCR or antigen test carried out a maximum of three 3 days before the flight or present a vaccination record against COVID-19, with full schematic. Aeromexico will continue to reconnect destinations and increase flights, to remain the airline of Mexico with the best connectivity and will maintain the strictest health and hygiene protocols in all its operations.
