Tecnam Aircraft is proud to announce that the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) of the Republic of Ecuador has officially validated the Type Certificate of the entire P2012 aircraft series.
This comprehensive approval covers the P2012 Traveler (with motors Lycoming TEO-540 o Continental GTSIO-520-S), electric P2012 CHAIR (with Continental GTSIO-520-S engines) and the P2012 Sentinel SMP (with motors Lycoming TEO-540 o Continental GTSIO-520-S), allowing the immediate entry into service of all variants in the country with local registration.
This regulatory milestone comes after the historic arrival of the first P2012 Traveler to Ecuador in july 2025, entregado a Transair Leasing, official Tecnam distributor for Ecuador, Colombia, Peru and Panama.

Although the initial delivery marked the arrival of the P2012 to the region, this validation completes, including multi-mission capabilities for passengers, load, medical evacuation/air ambulance, combi, skydiving and platform for special missions, now allows airlines, private owners, operators and government entities choose the ideal configuration for their mission, whether high altitude connectivity or operations from extremely short and unprepared runways.
Validation of engine configurations (Lycoming y Continental) and wings (Traveler and STOL) is strategically vital to the diverse geography of Ecuador, as it offers a flexible selection of performance, always guaranteeing the safety of a twin engine, cutting edge avionics, unmatched comfort and short takeoff and landing capabilities, ideal for accessing the most remote and challenging slopes in Ecuador, from the Amazon and Andean region to the coastal connection of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.
