A year after the airline was authorized by the Ecuadorian aeronautical authority to operate regularly from Latacunga with its fleet of Boeing aircraft 737, It was learned that Aercaribe maintains its intentions to start these flights, but due to problems and delays in the use of El Pisque and Telemerc, the start of flights have continued to be postponed.
In the information published by the important portal CH-Aviation, It is indicated that the airline maintains its intentions to fly to Latacunga, but now everything depends on the Ministry of Finance and the DGAC, who must resolve the permits and rent of these facilities.

Thanks to direct contact with the Airline, It was confirmed that the flights that AerCaribe is carrying out to Quito in these weeks, They are in charter operation for an important client in the cargo sector, nothing more than that and it does not mean that their regular flights are to Quito and it was even known that they will make some charter flights to Guayaquil for this same client..
Finally, as part of its regular operation, It was confirmed that its base of operations will be the Alternative International Airport of Cotopaxi, in Latacunga, from where the start of regular operations is expected in July, once all contracting processes are completed, certification and permits of the case.
With this Latacunga will have a new boost to its operations, having again 2 freight operators, something that this terminal needs a lot.
