The Guayaquil airport will temporarily close for four weekends in a row during the month of September 2019 for runway maintenance.
The temporary closure will take place from Saturday to Monday (starting at 00:00 Saturday hours until 08:00 Monday AM), starting from 31 August to Monday 23 September 2019, with the objective of carrying out maintenance and overhaul tasks on the landing strip of the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport.

To reduce the impact, airlines have started rescheduling, relocate and cancel flights during these dates.
