LATAM Airlines presents the new Basic Fare for travelers who do not need a carry-on bag on domestic flights in Ecuador and other countries in the region.
In order to provide new ways of flying to its users, LATAM Airlines with its subsidiary LATAM Ecuador have presented in the country (and also in other countries of the region) its new and updated family of rates that will be effective from the 3 of September.

New Basic Rate
This new rate is focused on those travelers who do not need to travel more than with a personal item such as a backpack, bag or similar and who know that they will not need extra services such as carry-on luggage.
It includes:
- 1 personal item of 45 x 35 x 20 cm (alto, length and width)
- randomly assigned seat
- Earning LATAM Pass Miles
You can pay:
- Baggage (hand luggage not available for sale)
- Seat selection otherwise it will be randomly selected
- LATAM+ seat
does not include:
- piece of hand luggage
- piece of checked baggage
- Changes or Returns
- If your personal item does not meet the quantity, the size allowed, you will have to pay extra cost.
With the Basic Rate your boarding group will immediately be the number 7.

If the hand baggage meets the requirements, but there is no more space available in the overhead compartments, your suitcase will be sent to the hold free of charge. On the contrary, if your hand luggage and/or personal items do not meet the maximum sizes and weights allowed, the suitcase will be sent to the warehouse with an additional charge.

I traveled to Chile with a handbag and a backpack, and they didn't charge me anything, in tourist class, because now they want to charge, they want me to go naked?and I want to continue traveling through Latin America. Mal , this low fee , it's nothing more than raising the rate , With these prices they want to recover losses due to bad deals, judicial fines in various countries and its merger with Tam , bad very bad .
Terrible, our flight was canceled, they treated us very badly, the hotel was 1h30 away from the airport with 2 children and they did not even offer water to the people who had to be almost 10 hours waiting for a solution. And so far the compensation has not arrived. This airline is not recommended

Abuses are in order, I introduced myself 30 min.before the flight time and I was denied boarding, I paid another ticket, but on other trips even with 10 and 15 min. before they continue boarding.

That's how they promote it but it's only for NOW to charge the bags to everyone. I traveled from the USA to Chile a week ago and they charged me 200 dollars for 2 suitcases .. a theft !!!
I invite you to NOT fly more through Latam that everyone wants to charge (surely now they will charge the few and bad meals that they serve with a lazy and petulant staff) , bell that by AVIANCA or AEROMEXICO.

I do not recommend using LATAM. I had a very bad experience and they still haven't answered me. They changed the entrance gate and did not notify passengers in another language. They only use Portuguese. I missed the plane and no one took charge
