Tras haber iniciado sus vuelos al «Puerto Principal» el 3 august 2019, The Colombian low cost airline Wingo is preparing to increase its frequencies towards the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport from the city of Guayaquil.

Currently, with two weekly flights from Bogotá to Guayaquil, the airline will start its third weekly flight on 5 February at the following time:

  • Flight P57055 will take off to Bogota at 01:00 PM and will land in Guayaquil at 02:59 PM in direct flight with a duration of 1 hour and 59 minutes.
  • Flight P57054 will take off to Guayaquil at 04:07 PM and will land back in Bogotá at 06:00 PM in direct flight with a duration of 1 hour and 53 minutes.

With this frequency the airline will operate on Mondays, Wednesday (new flight) and friday, maintaining the same hours of operation in all its frequencies, emphasizing that the system indicates that this flight will be operated by those still pending incorporation, boeing aircraft 737-800.

At the moment, In its operating permit, the airline has 2 assigned frequencies, so we will soon see a modification to it to be able to fly this additional frequency.

Growth in Ecuador is logical within the growth plans of the airline, What do you expect during the 2020 grow close to a 20% in their current markets and where to Quito already increased to 5 weekly flights.

Guayaquil is currently the southernmost destination from Bogotá that Wingo flies, and its future international growth plan could include more destinations within the region, which will also expand its capacity and autonomy to fly further thanks to the imminent arrival of the largest Boeing aircraft 737-800 with capacity for 186 passengers in a single class.

This incorporation will come from its mother airline Copa Airlines, which has been somewhat postponed due to the well-known problems of airplanes Boeing 737 MAX.
