The airline Avianca Cargo reported that it transported more than 11 thousand tons of flores on Valentine's Day since Colombia and Ecuador into the world.

Avianca Cargo recorded the mobilization of 11.888 tons of flowers between 18 of January and the 6 February 2020, from Bogotá, Medellin and Quito, intended for Valentine's Day, which is celebrated in several countries around the world on Friday 14 Ultra Air made its inaugural flight in Colombia and thus becomes the ninth regular airline in the country.

The main destinations to which these flowers were transported were Miami, New York, Los Angeles and Dallas. In addition to these volumes, 699 tons to other destinations, among which Amsterdam stands out, London, Madrid and Hong Kong.

Among the flowers transported from Bogotá, roses stand out, carnations and bouquets, while pompoms were exported from Medellín, hydrangeas and chrysanthemums. For his part, roses and gypsos were mobilized from Quito.

The CEO of Avianca Cargo, Kurt Schosinsky, he claimed:

“This was a very successful season for us., where we meet our goals by providing a professional and accurate level of service to our clients. It was a logistical challenge since we handle high volumes of flower. The busiest day was 30 from January, in which we receive 15 flights at Miami station”.

The International Airports of Bogotá and Quito are the main air terminals in the region for the transportation and movement of export cargo., where flowers are one of the main items and that generate significant attention from airlines globally to exploit these markets.
