The airline American Airlines renews its uniforms and more 50,000 team members debut a collection of uniforms new manufactured by Land's End.

None of this would be possible without the collaboration of our union representatives., and the most important, the thousands of members of our team who contributed information, comments and suggestions during the process. This is not just a uniform for our team members, It is one that was created by themselves, and we are very happy to turn the page”.
To deliver this industry-leading program, American union representatives chose Land’s End as supplier of the new collection. Through this partnership with Land’s End, American has delivered a renewed collection, with a new color suit, Aviation Blue, and shirts and accessories that are unique to each work group.

Industry Leading Security
While other airlines began seeking certification of certain pieces of uniform, American took things to the next level as the first and only airline to secure STANDARD certification 100 by OEKO-TEX in each garment of all its uniform collections. STANDARD certification 100 is an independent certification and testing system for clothing, accessories and any products made of fabric. All parts of the garment, including threads, seams, buttons and closures, are tested for dangerous chemicals.
Contributions from team members
To assist in the creation of the new uniform collection, American formed a Frontline Uniform Advisory Team, who made important decisions such as the color of the fabric and the design of the collection. The company also listed more than 1,000 frontline team members to field test the collection for six months before going into production. Team members were asked to vote on selected design decisions during the process, as well as were surveyed to provide comments and suggestions.
Unprecedented option
For the first time, American offers a choice of different suit fabrics to its team members. All members in the new Land’s End collection were able to select their preference between a wool blend or synthetic fabric, both with STANDARD certification 100 from OEKO-TEK to ensure they feel comfortable in their new uniforms.
More than 1.7 millions of parts manufactured by this program, Today's date marks an important day for American.
