The airline Avianca announced new flights from Guayaquil to Cartagena and another one from Medellin toward São Paulo on Brazil.

Avianca announced today the launch of two new direct routes that will continue to strengthen Colombia's international connectivity.. from the next 3 from December, the clients of Avianca You can enjoy three flights a week between Medellin and Sao Paulo and, from the 17 of the same month, They will have two frequencies a week between Cartagena and Guayaquil.

Avianca announces flights from Guayaquil and Medellín

In the case of the route from Guayaquil to Cartagena, This represents the return of these flights that were suspended in August 2023 after a few months of operation together with the Medellin – Guayaquil, while flights to São Paulo represent a totally new flight on the airline's route map.

It should be noted, that flights on the Guayaquil route – Cartagena will be operated by the airline's subsidiary Avianca Ecuador.

The flights will be operated on airplanes Airbus A320 with capacity for 180 passengers which will represent an offer of more than 500 weekly seats on the Medellín-Sao Paulo routes and more than 350 chairs per week for the Cartagena-Guayaquil route.

Connectivity grows in Cartagena and Medellín

With the new operations, Avianca customers in Cartagena and Bolívar will have an offer of 10 routes, five national and five international:

  • National destinations: Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Bucaramanga and Pereira.
  • International destinations: Miami*, NY*, Santiago*, San José and since December Guayaquil.

Likewise, travelers in Medellín and Antioquia will have 28 routes at your disposal, 12 national and 16 international.

  • National destinations: Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, Hunting, Saint Andrew, riohacha, Pereira, Cucuta, Barranquilla, Armenia, Bucaramanga, Santa Marta and Cali.
  • International destinations: San Juan, Miami, Santiago*, Lima*, Orlando*, Saint Joseph, Cancún, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Mexico City, Punta Cana*, New York, Quito, Aruba y, since december, Guayaquil and Sao Paulo.
