Avianca will reactivate the direct route between Guayaquil and Medellin since december, this time operated by aircraft and crew Avianca Ecuador.
Avianca announced the resumption of its direct operations between the cities of Guayaquil, Ecuador and Medellin, Colombia, from 16 from December to 2024. This new route will strengthen air connectivity between both countries, offering corporate and leisure passengers a more efficient and comfortable travel option.
This route was suspended the 15 august 2023, after having operated from 28 March of the same year, due to fleet availability and new challenges that arose in the Colombian market, but now it comes back.
Avianca Ecuador will fly between Guayaquil and Medellín
With the return of these flights, Avianca reaffirms its commitment to connecting Ecuador and also confirming that this route presents positive profitability numbers. with this route, Avianca Ecuador will operate at Medellin both from Guayaquil as from Quito (work with 4 weekly frequencies), marking important support for the development of the growing connection hub at the Rionegro Airport that serves this city.
Frequencies
This resumption of flights brings Guayaquil three frequencies that will operate on Mondays, Wednesday and Friday on airplanes Airbus A320 with capacity for 180 passengers.
Schedules
Regarding the hours, These flights will operate as follows:
- Flight AV8398 takes off from Guayaquil at 13:15 hours and lands in Medellín at 15:05 hours with a duration of 1 hour and 50 minutes.
- Flight AV8399 takes off from Guayaquil at 18:15 hours and lands back in Guayaquil at 20:05 hours with a duration of 1 hour and 50 minutes.
- From the 20 December the flight on Fridays will take off at 16:55 and will land at GYE at 18:45 hours.
These flights are now available for sale on the Avianca website and travel agencies from $204 dollars round trip with fees and taxes plus a personal item.
