The Ecuadorian airline Avianca Ecuador has requested to be assigned more frequencies for its flights between Quito and Cuenca.
After starting with 6 weekly frequencies from 4 October 2021, The airline seeks to further increase its possibilities of daily frequencies that it can operate between the Airports Marshal Sucre and Marshal La Mar, Let's review what the airline recently requested before the DGAC.
Avianca Ecuador wants more flights to Cuenca

During the alliance Aerogal-Avianca, the airline operated in the Mariscal La Mar Airport until the 14 of January of 2015, At that time two daily flights operated (14 weekly frequencies), but now the airline is going for more and is seeking to double its current flights.
It should be noted that at the time of this publication, the airline operates with 11 weekly frequencies, having recently increased a flight at noon on Mondays between Quito and Cuenca.
The airline requested the modification of the operating permit to operate the air transport service, public, domestic, regular, passenger, cargo and mail, in combined form, renewed by the National Civil Aviation Council through Agreement No.. 016/2024 from 03 april 2024 and modified with DGACDGAC-2024-0006-A agreement of 06 april 2024.
The modification consists of increasing 14 frequencies on the QUITO – CUENCA – QUITO route, to total 28 weekly frequencies, leaving the aforementioned route configured as follows:
- Quito – Cuenca – Quito with up to twenty-eight (28) weekly frequencies.
